((i don't know why i titled it that....couldn't think of anything else, but don't read too much into it lmao))
Alice Demming bit her lower lip as her destination grew closer. One, two, three. Brown Steve Madden slouch boots clicked softly against the cigarette-strewn concrete sidewalk. Alice preferred walking over automotive transportation because it didn’t expend pollution-four, five, six - and it also gave her a chance to collect her thoughts and compose herself before walking into the marshmallow office. Besides, traffic on Fifth Avenue is a bitch. Seven.
Alice gripped the handles of her eco-friendly cloth shopping bags tighter. She had just given herself some retail therapy and was walking towards the chrome-and-glass office towers for a different type of therapy. Breathing in the cold air, she wrapped her short trench and tied the belt around her natural waist. Her breath came out like white wisps of smoke. She shrugged her tote bag up her shoulder and braced her frail arm around the revolving entrance.
Several businessmen in crisp, iron suits followed her into the building complex, their un-scuffed shoes tapping along the waxed floor. Alice walked over to the front desk and signed her name in the correct book. Pulling at her dark-washed jeans, she made her way to the carpeted elevator.
As the elevator rose, she looked politely ahead, almost lost in the metallic shimmer of her reflection. As the doors chimed and opened and closed, and people got on and off, Alice Demming meditated. She hated the thought of therapy. It made her seem like a psycho-person. Just because everyone was getting a shrink didn’t mean she needed one too. In for seven counts, hold for five counts, out for seven counts. When she reached her floor, she took a second to clear her mind before stepping out of the elevator car.
The hallway was white. Everything was white. And I know of so many amazing decorators, she thought, as she walked towards the receptionist. After checking in, she sat in the corner chair of the waiting room, the one she always sat in. As she waited agonizingly, her mind still empty, she counted colours in her mind, not taking in any of her surroundings.

Hood up, his hands in his pocket, Chorni walked out of the check up room exhasperated. The sweating nightmares where he ended up in parks or clubs were freaking him out. "They're normal," said the doctor, hah. He wasn't happy. The boy was going to walk out as fast as he could, hip bag swinging, until he stopped dead.
For a second he checked, no one was around and it didn't seem as if anyone would be coming anytime soon. with a silly smirk on his face Chorni stalked over and sat beside the girl, completely hiding his face for a moment until she looked up, and grinned like a predator.
"Hey girlie, how're ya doin'?" He twirled a lock of her hair in his finger, he'd always liked her hair, chestnut brown and curly, so full of life like she was.

“Hola chica,” she said as she leaned her head closer slightly. Chorni always twirled her hair like that, and Alice she never really knew why he did it, but she liked it all the same. It wasn’t that long ago they had last seen each other, but it was longer than usual that the two had hung out, just the two of them. Though she tried to fight it, a small smile revealed a row of pearly whites. “I’m good, here for the usual weekly,” she rolled her eyes. “What about you? Still waking up in the park?”
Shifting her legs and crossing them the other way, she took her hands out from under her legs. Lately, she had developed a habit of sitting on her hands, but it caused weird impressions on her skin that she always ended up picking at.
With one hand, she grabbed his free hand and pulled it away from his body. For her skinny figure, she had surprising strength in her thin arms. Her wrists were lean, but she actually had some muscle on her upper arms and her legs from working out with a personal trainer several times a week. Alice slipped her other hand underneath his hood and messed up his hair, then pulled it lower over his eyes. A broad smile showed off her victory.

"Stupid spanish," he grumbled with a tug on her curl and a sly grin, he knew perfectly well that she had called him a girl and passed it out of his mind. His smile turned into a frown at her jest.
"Yeah, it's not getting any better. Ze nightmares are vorse," he ran a blue-white hand over his face, his black painted nails stood stark against his almost deadly palour, staring out at the girl between his fingers.
He let Alice play with him, leaving a childish pout set on his lips as well as he waited for her to finish. Chorni grabbed her wrists and twisted her arms so one arm was around her back and her arms were crossed across her chest, "I've got you trapped," he sang victoriously in her ear and bit the tip of it lightly with his front teeth.

"Blneeh", the sound that came out of her mouth was hardly understandable. Alice hated losing and she normally didn't like being trapped, whether in an emotional, literal, or physical sense. But she let those go for Chorni. Somehow, he made it fun. Alice pulled her arms from behind her and held his head in her hands by his hair.
With her thumb, she traced his eyebrow. He definitely looked a lot worse than the last time they had hung out. Though, you can't really call a doctor's office a great place to hang out, she thought. Her hand slid from his forehead to his cheek. His skin was so pale it was almost transparent. With her other hand, she brushed a piece of something off his face.
Alice worried about Chorni sometimes. They didn't really hang out with the same people and most of Alice's friends would never understand why she hung out with someone like him. But that's because they didn't know him. Sometimes, she wished her friends, or he, would make more of an effort to get to know each other. The ends of her mouth twisted downward as she thought about his appearance.
"You know, if you stayed over at my loft, I could wake you up before you leave the place," she offered with a wink. "And if I can't stop you, the doorman will stop you." It may have seemed suggestive to anyone else, but Chorni and Alice were like best friends, only they had to hide it. "But seriously, you need some rest or something. You know I'm not the worrying kind, but, really, how can I not?"

He stayed still, his hands folded in his lap as Alice held his head. Chorni studied the gril's face, she looked better than he felt, she probably had less of a problem with the recurring memories than he did. Of course, the one last night had been the worst so far, he ended up nearly halfway across the state and had to rent a car to get back to the doctor's office quickly, and here he was now and without any feeling of being truly awake. The circles under his eyes must have been abhorrent.
"I don't know how safe I'd be if you tried to vake me up," he wasn't sure how much she knew about his past, he was still learning and they hadn't been talking recently, his military background brought many flashes of fighting and violence.
"I don't vant to hurt you, I'd probably stay up all night and I vouldn't vant to bozer you," he searched her eyes for some sort of need for him to be there, he'd stay with her if she really wanted and he needed the company. A small grin drew on his lips, "Or you could alvays stay at my place."

"Come on. I can take a few falls. Feel this," she tightened her arm into a muscle and posed Arnold-style. "I'm made of steel," she joked. Since the appearance of the blue veins on her wrist and her apparent history of being a vampire, Alice felt stronger than ever. Maybe it wassupernatural or something, but at the gym, Alice could lift more weight, she worked out longer, and she didn't feel as tired afterwards. She felt confident in her new found strength but was unsure of how she would match to Chorni's ability. He was taller than her, probably weighed more (she hoped), and was older than she. He also had some sort of history that she didn't know of yet. The nightmares had something to do with it though, she was sure of it.
When Chorni suggested he'd hurt her, she took his head and gently pulled him closer to her, until their foreheads almost touched. Awweeee, how adorable, she thought. Then Alice rolled her eyes. "You'd never bother me," she laughed quietly. She looked him in the eyes as he seemed to be searching for something- trust, friendship, need? Since her cravings for raw meet had surfaced- something she'd managed to avoid so far- she had also found herself acting, or maybe even being, smarter during classes. Too bad it never crossed over into something worthwhile, like reading emotions. Alice was good at reading people, but she was generally more detached to those and there was never any personal bias.
"Or you could always stay at my place."
She mock-shoved him away and smirked. "And what, pray tell, would we do at your place...that we couldn't do at mine?" After all, her sister was never home and her brother, well, who knew where he was anytime. Not that it would matter. Secretly, Alice was just waiting for someone real to spend the night. It was getting too lonely at home.

"You look more like a veakling to me," he playfully squeezed her arm and rolled up his sleeve-Chorni had been working out lately-and exposed his larger bicep, "Check zis out! I'm ze real iron-man."
"Ve'll see, you spend one night and see how you feel," if it were any other person Chorni surely would have been bothered by the close contact, but somehow Alice was so natural to be next to, he knew for sure they weren't blood bonded but there must have been some history in there somewhere.
The boy laughed at her shoving, grabbing her head and holding her against his chest protectively, acting like nothing was going on as one of the doctor's helpers walked past eyeing them suspiciously, he smiled and waved.
"I've got my apartment, it gets lonely vith my big screen television and an endless assortment of dvds..I've got an extra bed, it's king sized," he let go of her and gave her one of those rare big smiles, "Pleeeeeeeeease?"

((ooc: WHOOOOAAAH when did the terminator join the site? lmfao I can't get that movie, and robocop, out of my head bc evan mentioned it in modern conflicts yesterday >.<))
"I don't know what's bigger, your bicep or your ego," she joked.
Alice laughed as he grabbed her head and started to wave. Alice shrugged her shoulders at the attendant, not really caring what the helper thought. She was completely comfortable so close to Chorni. At least he never pushed her head down; their school wasn't known for teaching nerdy prudes.
Lily is almost never home so she would hardly notice me gone a night. Besides, it will be fun, she tried to persuade herself. He is smiling like that. Instead of saying yes right away, Alice decided to tease him a bit. "And why do you have an extra king sized bed? Hmmm?" she raised her right eyebrow a few times. "Weeeeell, please what?"

((ooc: I forgot that I was going to write out how he sounds with his accent. Sorry. I went and fixed all my posts. silly russian accents =]))
Chorni stuck out his lower lip, a fake pout with big puppy eyes which melted into an evil grin, "Me? Ego? I have no idea vat you're talking about."
He let go of her head and yawned, stretching his arms above his head while sliding down in his seat, slouching considerably and gazing up at Alice lazily, "I lied. Zere is no extra bed, just mine, but I could have an extra one in an hour if you vanted?"
He shrugged, there was a huge couch in the living room of his apartment but he didn't want her to sleep on that, he'd rather she was in comfort, he'd offer for her to sleep with him, he wouldn't try anything, but he didn't want it to be weird for her due to their genders...and rather hidden friendship. A tiny smirk quivered at his lips at the thought of what would go around the school if someone saw her leave his apartment in the morning.

((ooc: lmao you can call me...The Terminator))
"Hah, no idea, huh?," she laughed. But it was true, he wasn't stuck up, or at least like most people she knew. She tried to sit up, forgetting that his arm was around her head, and it ended in an awkward tug-of-war with her neck.
When Chorni let go of her, Alice pulled her legs beneath her and sat on her legs. As he slid down in his seat, she stood up on her knees and poked him in both sides, resisting the urge to tickle him just barely. Her hair fell in her face as she laughed. Pushing it back, she looked up towards the ceiling and florescent lights before turning her attention back to him.
"Ooh, can I have a pony too?" she asked in a childish manner, blinking her eyelashes and pouting at him. "Pleeease? I can make it worth your while," she whispered.

"Mmm, nope," he sat watching her for a bit, raising his eyes for a moment to see what she was staring at before lowering them slowly to meet her eyes to eye. Chorni's stomache rumbled loudly and he laughed, it was more of his blood hunger than human, but either way his body protested loudly, "I didn't tink I vas zat hungry."
He patted his belly and stood up, twisting with his hands on his hips to crack his back, which was audible in the silence of the waiting room. "Ooh, can I have a pony too?Pleeease? I can make it worth your while.."
Her turned back at Alice with one eyebrow raised, and gave a feral grin. He made a fake little pounce and landed with his knees on either side of her on the chair, his hands holding her face up to him, "Oh really, and how vill you make it up to me?" He was doing his best to be serious but the look on her face made him begin to snicker.

Alice cringed slightly as Chorni cracked his back loudly. Her eyelids fluttered as she tried to sound as sexy as possible, while still sounding as innocent as ever- something she did not exactly pull off correctly.
She completely broke and started laughing when he began to snicker. She gave up her act and thought expressively. "Hmm...we can bake cookies....and you can choose the movie? Pretty Woman or Legally Blonde, your choice!" she offered in a sing-songy voice. She shook her face side to side in his hands.
Alice wrinkled her nose up and down as she let him think it over. Her hand absentmindedly traced his thighs as she counted the strands of hair that hung in his face. Four, five, six...

"I refuse to acknowledge your teasing," he stuck his nose in the air with his arms crossed, his air of haughtiness wouldn't stay because he looked back down meaning to give her a 'you're not worth my time' look, but began to smile instead. He was so bad about keeping a straight face anymore around Alice.
His eyes glanced down at her hands before going back up to watch her eyes, pondering what all they could do. Chorni didn't want to sleep and wasn't sure if she'd stay up all night with him, they did have school tomorrow after all.
"I tink ve should go rent as many movies as possible and hang out on my couch...or...ve could go to a club? It's up to you."

Alice stuck her tongue out at him, and then smiled because she knew she had won that one when Chorni smiled. She thought about all the other things they could do....she really really wanted to paint his nails pink, but she knew he probably wouldn't let her, since they did have classes the next day. If he falls asleep and doesn't realise...maybe, she thought.
Alice followed his eyes as they glanced down to her hands and she realised what she had been doing. She almost hesitated, but chastised herself silently. You've become such a wuss, what happened to you? the devil's advocate asked in her mind. Instead, she chose to see how far she could go, how far Chorni would let her go, before either one of them cracked. But, she didn't want anything to be awkward between them, and that kept her in check.
"We could always do both," Alice suggested, her soft fingers creating slightly more pressure as her hand slid up and down his thigh. "If we go to a club, I'll be more energetic afterwards so I can stay up all night and not sleep in class tomorrow."
