Stephanie watched the buildings, the trees slide by as her limo made its way not-so-smoothly down Park Avenue. Her brothers were seated on the bench beside her, and their parents both sat regally on the bench across from them. It wasn't long before the stopped by the Headquarters of the American Society. Her door was opened and Stephanie rushed out, as gracefully as possible, glad that she wasn't stuck with her family in such a small space any longer. She kept from releasing a sigh of relief as the rest of the Shaws stepped out behind her. They made their way inside, descending the grand staircase into the ballroom. Stephanie disengaged from the rest of her family, and went off on her own in search of her friends. She'd been forced to go to the family manor in order to get ready with her brothers and parents, and in order for them to show up together at the Ball, for appearance's sake. She wouldn't have gone through with it if her mother hadn't begged...
Where's Alice...and Bliss...?
Her heels clicked almost inaudibly on the marble floor as she made her rounds, the soft gold frills of her dress swishing about her legs with every step she made. Her mother, Melanie Shaw, hadn't very much approved of the medium length slit along the top front of her dress, but Stephanie put her foot down; this was the dress she would wear.
It's not slutty.
She paused near the staircase, taking a few minutes to rest, almost out of breath from walking around the large ballroom. Stephanie leaned against the nearest wall, pushing a hand-full of blond curls off her shoulder to cascade behind her back.

Michael walked into the largest ball room of the American Society alone. He refused to enter with his parents, and since Melanie wasn't allowed to come he'd gone solo. At least he looked good he thought smugly subconciously straightening the flower he'd placed in his breast pocket. He was decked out in a Versace tux with a black shirt underneath that he had left unbuttoned slightly and tie-less.
Walking forwards confidently he let his gaze wander the overcrowded room looking for some familiar faces, he knew Drake and Bliss would be here at least, and since the rumors he'd been hearing he was also looking for the familiar form of Dylan. If the rumors were true than he wanted to have a chat with the guy.
But his search was stopped suddenly by a cascade of golden curls being carelessly tossed over a shoulder. Michael's mouth hung open as he gazed on the girl, so not the usual type of girl he would stop and stare at, but so much more it seemed. Stunning, that was the only word for it.

Stephanie was very well aware of all the eyes fixed upon her, holding either lust, envy, hate, adoration, wonder...She ignored most of the stares, having become used to them long ago. That's quite arrogant... She swore under her breath; never would she wish to become as vain and self-absorbed as her brothers and parents. Years of observing their mistakes had taught her that there was nothing to gain from vanity, nothing to learn from selfishness. Stephanie shook her head a little, blond curls swinging slightly from side to side; now she was sounding philosophical. Once more, her attention went to finding her friends, and by this point, any familiar face for that matter.
Sharp gray eyes slid over the crowd surrounding her, and without her intent stopped on a guy she'd never seen before. He was unbelievably good-looking, and the pricey suit he was wearing surprisingly went with his over-all look...punk, rock...whichever it was. Stephanie was surprised her mouth didn't water as her gaze scanned him from his feet and up. She blinked in surprise when finding the boy's eyes looking back at her.
What...? Hadn't she just been thinking of how she'd gotten used to the looks and the stares? and yet here she was, surprised that she was being looked upon by this guy she'd never met before. Automatically her lips curved into an inviting smile, and the previously tense muscles in her shoulders relaxed.
(sorry if it sucks! my brain's dead from all of the end-of-term work XD)

As Michael continued to gaze at the girl he found her eyes come to him. Shocked that she'd even look at him his mouth fell open slightly, something he hated. Momentarily struck dumb he felt her gaze racke over him almost like a heat wave. Noticing the seductive smile that formed on her face as her eyes met his the feeling suddenly came back into his legs.
Regaining a little bit of his composure he boaldly steppd forward, crossing the dance floor with confident steps and a hint of his usual swagger. As he got closer to the girl, however, he found it difficult to keep her in view. Weaving between the dancing couples and chatting groups he found himself even standing up on his toes to try and spot her.
Damn people need to get out of the way! he thought as he elbowed past a group of teen boys.
Finaly breaking through the last couple dancing he foun dhimself face to face with gorgeouse smokey grey eyes.
"Hi..." was all he could get out.

Her stomach gave a flutter, and she kept her gaze on him for a few seconds longer before he began making his way over to her. Stephanie tried keeping her gaze focused on him as he made his way over, weaving through the constantly growing crowd. This proved to be more difficult than she'd hope, people constantly getting the way, blocking her view of him. After what felt like hours, he'd finally made his way over, standing only a step away. She knew nothing about him, having never before seen, much less spoken to him, but his outer appearance gave the impression that he was quite confident, maybe even a bad boy. She kept from blinking in surprise when he only spoke one word.
Stephanie's smile grew a fraction, "Hey..."
She never made the first move and was very much used to guys taking lead, but she felt what appeared to be a mix of excitement and relief, making her nervous enough to act differently than she normally would,
"I've definitely never seen you before..."

Michael didn't know how to deal with himself around this girl, she did something to him that took away his usual charm and confidence. It made him a little mad, he was used to going after what, and who, he wanted confidently and without thought, and getting it. But with this girl he felt completely wrong footed, and it intrigued him.
Hey... I've definately never sen you before...
Comming back to himself slightly he managed one of his customary crooked smiles, golden brown eyes never leaving her smokey grey, "Well i've been here and there, but i've been around for a while. I'm surprised i've never noticed you before." he admitted, she looked to be about his age so he didn't understand how they'd never met, "Are you new here?" he asked, genuinely curiouse and desperate to hear he speak again, her voice sent shivers over his skin he couldn't control, it was like a harp almost in how melodic it was... that was the only way he oculd explain it.

Stephanie listened to him talk, enjoying the sound of his voice; seductive, masculine. Bedroom voice... She had to keep from jumping in surprise at her own thought; her attraction to him was stronger, deeper than she'd first realize. This could be dangerous. Her stomach fluttered with excitement, and it felt as if her heart had risen into her throat.
"No I'm not new...I've been here for quite some time." Her smile remained on her face, and she lowered her eyelashes slightly.
"Do you go to school? And if you do...where? Maybe we go to different schools..."
Slender fingers reached out and gracefully snatched a champagne flute from the platter of a waiter passing by. Stephanie brought the rim to her lips, taking a sip. This would help calm her nerves. They seemed to be standing closer, and she wasn't sure whether they'd both slowly been stepping toward one another, or whether the constantly growing crowd had pushed them closer.

Feeling the closeness between them Michael took a gulp of air to steady himself. But in with that gulp came the smell of her perfume, so intoxicating it almost made him woozy. How did this girl affect him so much? He didn't get it, she definately wasn't the type of girl he'd ever been attracted too...it was just as if when he'd first laid eyes on her he'd had a rush of emotions for her that seemed almost like they'd been pent up inside him from times before just waiting to be released.
"Well i used to go to Duchesne for well i guss like 3 years technically, and now i go to NYU. What about you, becuase it would definately explain it if we went to different schools."
Watching her casually sip the champagne he suddeny wondered if she felt anything between them, or if it was just him. Trying to shake himself out of it he reached over and grabbed an empty glass from the waiter, pulled out his flask and poured the spiced rum into the glass. Instantly shooting back half of it.

She kept her eyes on him, now feeling slightly more relaxed after a few sips of champagne. Stephanie took another moment to take in his appearance, for the first time realizing that he most certainly wasn't the type she usually went for. She must have been stupid.
"Well i used to go to Duchesne for well i guess like 3 years technically, and now i go to NYU. What about you, because it would definitely explain it if we went to different schools."
Stephanie let a look of surprise slip through her expression of calm, "Duchesne? I went there for four years....and NYU...I'm attending there now." She couldn't help but let out a laugh. They'd been close to one another this entire time, but had never noticed or seen one another.
She watched him take a shot, her eyes lighting with mischief, "Will you be coming to the after party?" Stephanie finished her champagne, setting the empty glass on another tray passing by them. She was sure Mimi wouldn't send him an invite, but she would bring him along if he wanted to come. Screw Mimi...

Michael almost choked on his second shot of rum, they'd gone to the same school? And still did? How the hell had the never seen one another?
"K well this is definately a bit odd. I was pretty notoriouse around Duchesne back in my day. Probably still am infact, i'm sure there's still a few reminders of me around that school." he reminisced grinning evily, he'd made sure when he finally graduated that his name would always be remembered at that school. Hell it was litterally etched into the school itself!
Laughing slightly he smirked a bit, "Well i'm not technically invited, but that's never stopped me before. I do believe me and my buddy Drake will crash it most likely. Either that or Bliss will take me along out of pitty." he answered her, "I'm assuming that means you're going?" he asked her raising an eyebrow and finishing the last of his drink. Noticing her hand was now empty he turned and grabbed two more glasses of champagne and handed her one.

Stephanie listened to what he had to say, let out a laugh then took a moment to think. She'd certainly heard many roomers about the trouble makers at Duchesne, but she'd certainly avoided meeting them, much less talking to them. Maybe if she found out his name, she'd at least recognize that...
"Well...we haven't met before. But we may have heard of one another. I'm Stephanie Shaw."
Something about this boy seemed very familiar, but she couldn't figure out what it was. The feeling nagged at the back of her mind. Maybe she'd seen him before, but hadn't acknowledged it until now, when it seemed important. Her eyes suddenly un-fosed, and she felt as if her mind was spiraling into another flashback. Shit...not now... She caught a flash of this exact boy, dressed in clothes which were fashionable centuries ago. The boy from her memories gave her a crooked smile; the exact same smile the present-day boy had given her only minutes ago.
"Well I'm not technically invited, but that's never stopped me before. I do believe me and my buddy Drake will crash it most likely. Either that or Bliss will take me along out of pity."
His words snapped her out of the flashback before completely lost herself in it. "Drake and Bliss?" She couldn't help but laugh. "You know them?" This situation was ridiculous, and at the same time intriguing. "Bliss is one of my best friends, and Drake and I have been friends for a while..."
She smiled and nodded her head in thanks, accepting the champagne glass from him. Stephanie took a sip, keeping her eyes on him while doing so.

"Stephanie Shaw hey... hmm i do think i've heard of you, and if you know Bliss and Drake than it was probably from one of them. Me and Drake are fairly good 'friends' i guess you could say, we fight a hell of alot though, and Bliss i've only gotten to know since she started dating Dylan." he said taking a sip of his champagne, he never been a huge fan of the stuff but alcohol was alcohol.
"Oh and i'm Michael, Michael Castel." he told her laughing, only just realizing he hadn't elaborated on his own name.
Watching her sip from the champagne glass he got a weird tingling feeling over his whole skin, it was the same feeling he always got when he was close to finding something from one of his past lives. Could he have known this girl before? Would that be why she seemed all so familiar, and why he felt he'd seen those eyes since the begining of time. Those eye's twinkled at him as he took another sip from his glass, and made his heart rate accelerate so it felt like he was running a marathon. Running a hand through his black hair he tried to calm himself a little.

Stephanie couldn't help but be a little surprised. Quite a bit vain of me wasn't it? expecting him to know who I was. She'd spent her four years at Duchesne treated like a princess, and after adopting some qualities from Mimi Force, she'd believed herself to have been in the center of everyone's attention. She gave a mental shrug; maybe it was good that this boy hadn't heard of her, he might have avoided talking to her if he had.
Michale Castel...
She'd definitely heard that name whispered through the halls of Duchesne, but she'd never paid the roomers much mind; she'd been far too focused on the roomers surrounding herself and her group of friends. Dylan Ward, now that name she knew for certain. Bliss's boyfriend, or ex-boyfriend; no one was too sure. He'd disappeared about a year ago, and no one seemed to have heard from him since. Stephanie was convinced his disappearance had something to do with this Silver Blood scare.
Their eyes locked as they both drank some champagne, and Stephanie felt as if she could never look away. So strange... She'd felt a connection with Michael even before she'd found out his name! A shiver ran down her spine, and her heartbeat seemed to accelerate the same way Michael's was. The champagne glass left her lips, and she couldn't help but smile again. She blinked in surprise as her microscopic handbag began vibrating. "Sorry..." With a chuckle, she opened the handbag, pulled out her cellphone and read her newest text message,

Bliss stepped from her family's limo with the assitance of one of the valets. Straightening her tall form she smoothed her light gold dress and hoisted the chain of her mini-bag farther up her shoulder. Waiting for her father to extend his arm to escort her in she wore her best fake smile.
Dylan should be the one offering her his arm to lead her into the ball room, he should be the one introduced along with her. He should be the one that she danced with all night and wen t to Mimi's after party with.
But that wasn't possible, there was no way he could come here now that people suspected him of being the Silver Blood. But, as she reminded her self, at least he was back. At least he was still hers, at least he still loved her.
Taking a deep breath she wlked into the ball room with her parents, but now wih a real smile in place. The thought that Dylan still loved her could make her feel happy even in the face of another boring ball.
Maybe not so boring after all... she thought to herself as she spotted the familiar spiky black hair of Michael. wonder who he's talking to... she disengaged herself from her father and walked over to him.
As she got closer she realized he was talking to a girl... odd for Michael who usually waited till the girls were at least slightly drunk to make his move, not like he cared about them anyways. But as he turned to grab two glasses of champagne her mouth fell open Stephanie?!
Now this needed some investigating!
I just got the location and time for the after party. You in? Bliss heard Stephanie say as she felt her own purse vibrate.
"Now Castelo, I thought I was gonna sneak you in!" she said with a fake pout comming up beside the two.
