Schuyler lounged on her bed, knees drawn up and arms crossed and cushioning her her. Pearly white teeth pressed into her soft lower lip as she studied the ceilling, deep in though. It'd now been about a month since she and Oliver had bonded and he'd become her Familiar. That day, she'd seen his every memory, his every thought. He loves me... Schuyler let out a huff, then began chewing on her lip.
She wished she'd never found out, and at the same time, she wished she'd found out earlier, before her and Jack....what? What was with her and Jack? The raven-haired girl sat up with another huff, uncrossing her arms to lay them in her lap. Twisting her mouth to one side, she continued her mental wandering. Inevitably her thoughts lingered on Jack. His blond hair, those sharp green eyes... Schuyler frowned and began pulling on the small strings, exposed by the tears in her light blue jeans.
As usual, she hadn't bothered matching-up her socks, putting on one which was striped black and white, and one which had a green base with large pink polka dots. Her jeans were torn, but fit snugly over her slender waist, and the loose black knit sweater she'd put on, hung a little below her hips. Schuyler sighed, Where is Oliver when I need him? She reached over to her night table and picked up her cell, ready to send her best friend a text message.

Oliver sighed to himself as he headed to Schuyler's room. He knew this would happen, he knew that once Schuyler found out about his feelings for her things would go weird, he just hoped that everything between them could still be the same, and that they could still remain friends.
He didn't know what he would do if they didn't, he wouldn't be able to stand being her Familiar if things were any different. However, he also knew that he wouldn't...no...couldn't leave her alone; she was his best friend, no matter what happened.
Sighing again, Oliver raised his hand to the door infront of him, and knocked softly.

Her slender fingers moved swiftly over the number of her phone, putting together her message in a matter of seconds: 'Oliver, give me a call when you get this. Better yet, come over.' Schuyler's finger hovered over the send button, when a knock on her door made her jump and snap her head up. "Come in?" She raised her voice enough for the person on the other side of the thick wooden door to hear her. Schuyler then waited expectantly, slender black eyebrows slightly raised, her thumb still ready to press 'send'. She wondered who it could be. The only people who'd come over would either be Oliver or Jack. Oliver had been coming over since they were little, and he hadn't knocked for years. That only left one other person. Jack is here?! Her eyes widened, and she set the phone down on her lap in order to run her hands through her hair, trying to make herself look as decent as possible.

Oliver waited for a few moments before a muffled "Come in?" was heard through the doorl. Opening the door, Oliver let himself in and shut the door behind him before leaning on it and taking a look at his friend.
She had her cell in her hand like she was about to call or text someone and her hair looked like it had just been ran through with a hand must of thought I was Jack... he thought with a small amount of bitterness.
"Hey you"

The door swung open and her best friend stepped into the room, looking as perfect as ever. She felt the urge to reach toward him, touch his skin, run her hands through those inviting curls of his, touch that strong jawline...Wait... when had she started thinking of Oliver that way? No. Their relationship would remain strictly best friends, blue blood and conduit, blue blood and familiar.
A smile spread across her face and her eyes lit up, "Hey Oliver...I was just about to send you a text." She patted the spot on the bed beside her, only thinking that him sitting on her bed might be awkward due to present circumstances. Schuyler gave a mental shrug, keeping the smile on her face,
"What's up?"
She pressed 'cancel' on her phone, then set the small electronic device back on the bedside table. Her eyes remained fixed on him as she pulled her knees up, wrapping her arms around her legs.

Oliver moved farther into the room, but didn't sit on the bed right away, he took in the way she sat on the bed and a small frown formed on his lips before he shook his head and smiled lightly at her.
"Nothing really, just wanted to see how you were holding up after...everything"
Heaving a large sigh Oliver finally sat on the bed, although not right beside Schuyler, "You're...not upset at me are you?"

Schuyler fought to keep a frown off her face when Oliver hesitated to sit beside her. It seemed as if he was more affected by the whole situation that she was. She knew that she was good at ignoring certain things and move on, live her life normally. but she knew Oliver, and he didn't function in quite the same way.
"Oh I'm alright...maybe feeling a little weak, a little tired. But that's all. How're you holding up?"
Her lips tightened a fraction as she listened to his sigh then watched him sit beside her, though at a distance.
"No I'm not upset...I just...uh."
She frowned as she fought for words, one hand reaching up to absentmindedly tug on a few strands of ebony hair, "I just didn't know...I had no idea." Schuyler completely averted her gaze. She didn't want to talk about it, not yet; and he was hoping that her body language would make this obvious to her friend.

Oliver decided to let the topic drop, knowing that it was bothering her. Leaning over he gave Schuyler a small hug before letting her go, not sure if she was ok with close contact like that at this time.
"I'm glad you're alright, and that you're not upset. I.." here Oliver paused before continuing, "I wasn't sure if you'd still want to be my friend. I didn't want you to find out that way" or at all, for a long while yet

Schuyler was a little surprised by the hug, Oliver's attitude having been rather distant so far. She hadn't expected him to make physical contact. When he pulled away, after only a few seconds of hugging however, she frowned. Schuyler slipped both arms around him and pulled him close.
"Ollie...this doesn't change anything between us."
She knew she had to work hard in order to be true to her word, but in order to save their friendship, she would gladly put in the time and effort. Schuyler pressed her face into Oliver's shoulder, ignoring the tempting arch of his throat, so close to her face. Inevitably she remember the taste of his skin, the taste of his blood, and almost moaned aloud.
With great effort she kept from pressing her lips to his throat, and at the same time had to stop herself from tearing away from him. She remained pressed snugly against him.

Oliver wrapped his arms around her loosely, "I'm glad to hear that. Now, you said earlier that you were about to text me, anything you needed to talk to me about or were you just missing me?"
Oliver could feel Schuyler surpress a moan after placing her head on his shoulder, "you don't need to hold back you know, I understand what it means to be a Familiar."

She pulled her head back a little then tilted it up in order to look up at his face. "I just missed you.." A light blush warmed her cheeks, and she smiled brightly in order to keep things from getting awkward; or rather, more awkward than they already were.
Oliver's second comment caught her by surprise, and she blinked at him a number of times before her cheeks turned even more crimson. She hadn't know that he'd noticed her suppress her moan, though she should have known; they'd know each other for years now, they spent almost every moment together. Schuyler was also a little surprised by how blunt his words had been.
"Um...I didn't think it'd be appropriate...to do...that...while we're having a conversation."
Her arms loosened slightly and she chewed her bottom lip, now trying even harder to resist the taste of him.

Oliver sighed as he watched Schuyler chew her lip it's those little things she does that make me love her "Its appropriate whenever you deem it to be, if you need it you shouldn't hold out just because we're talking. Especially now, with you still becoming use to everything"
Oliver tilted his head and watched her, his eyes never leaving her face.

Schuyler slightly shook her head, more in amazement than in disagreement, her blue eyes wide and fixed on his face, "You always know what to say to make me feel better. I just wish i could do the same for you....I wish i could be what you want me to...." She lowered her gaze, and whispered the last few words, "I wish i could love you that way..."
Dammit! Hadn't she been the one avoiding the subject? And now here she was, bringing it up again, making the situation tense. Maybe I'm masochistic. She released a heavy sigh and raised her head to look at him again, "Forget that i said that..."
"And...I don't need to feed right now...it's just a craving..."
Schuyler blushed again, mentally cursing herself as she felt the warmth in her cheeks. It wasn't like her to be this...high-school-girlish. She held in a growl, smiling reassuringly at Oliver in stead.

Oliver paused again as he thought about what to say, he wouldn't go into what she was trying so hard to avoid so he right his head and smiled at her in his simple but kind way and with a wink said, "Forget you said what? Besides, as your Familiar and more importantly, as your best friend it's my job to help you feel better. Now, what would you like to talk about?"

She realized that she still had her arms around him, and although she felt momentarily very awkward, she remained that way. It felt good to have Oliver pressed so close to her after so many days, weeks of distance between them. What did she want to talk about? Anything she thought of, somehow connected back to their situation, or to Jack, so she bit her lip, trying to think harder.
When nothing came to mind, she let out a small laugh, "I don't know...what do you want to talk about?"
Oliver knew how to handle her, even if it was unconscious; but keeping her talking, keeping them both talking would distract her from his throat, his blood. She almost cursed herself as that thought caused her senses to once again focus on the veins pulsing beneath his skin. Maybe I'll have....just a taste?
Without realizing, Schuyler began to lean in, his eyes losing some of the focus.
